Adverb of degree  程度副詞  chéng dù fù cí

There are some words to express the degree of an adverb. They are shown in the table below:

As in English, we can put an adverb in front of an adjective to mention a degree of it. Example: 

1.  tɑ̄ fēi chɑ́ng cōng míng。  (他非常聰明)    He is extremely clever.
2.  tɑ̄ hěn cōng míng。 (他很聰明)    He is very clever.
3.  tɑ̄ bù shi hěn cōng míng。 (他不是很聰明)    He is not very clever.
4.  tɑ̄ bù cōng míng 。(他不聰明)    He is not clever.
